Blushing hues, Mojave Desert, beauty.

Last week, blushing hues, Mojave Desert. Beauty. Recalibration. Awe in belonging to this universe. “I never can feel certain of any truth but from a clear perception of its beauty," wrote Keats. We are made to self-organize into integration, connection, built for this reality.

R.M. Rilke: “Let everything happen to you: beauty and terror. Just keep going. No feeling is final.” Hiking is like this, stress of adventure. Work, life are like this, stress of fighting all that isn't beautiful, injustice, despair, a warming earth. Releasing it in spaciousness. We aren't separate from nature. All accepted. No fight. The mind on nature measurably affects our wellbeing, research shows. Outward Bound participants did 50 percent better on creative problem-solving tasks after three days in the wilderness. We are built for work stress because we know how to be beauty. Physically we're up for the task. Mental energies arise from planes of potential seeking integration. That's all. It's wild.

Sure, we can do entropy instead. It's natural as well. The choice is beauty. Can I give myself permission? Colors. Trees. Breath. Resiliency. Imagining from this kinder space; co-creating a better world. Not because we will ever end all suffering, but because beauty is also a truth.
