ma: tension at rest

Between what is and what becomes, a tension exists. We see what is against the canvas of what it is not. Not yet.

A luminescent droplet dangles from the tip of a blade of grass. Everything possible in this vibration of light.

What do we emphasize when we see? Where do we choose to focus?

Ma: A Japanese word for empty fullness, dynamic potential, the unseen that allows the seeing. The unseen that is the heart of the seeing. Still. So very still.

Ma: Emptiness. Absence. A nothingness from which experience emerges, unfolds, to which all experience returns. Ma as presence, necessary for temporary gestalt.

Space between objects, space holding you and me, silence between and beyond musical notes, stillness owning all movement. A field that is tension at rest, alive with its own potential and fountaining activity, a field that itself remains untouched.

Where will you look this week? Which empty space might be calling? Which tension will you dance? Who are we in this relationship?
